About the Di Imanti Outreach Program
Our company was developed for the purpose of getting vital health
information to a targeted area of the public that does not or will not
seek out that information on their own. This vital information and
service is largely available only through city, state and Federal
health organizations. Our company takes that information in all its
forms, directly to this targeted group where they are found. We try to
supply these particular areas with materials for the prevention and
spread of the HIV/AIDS virus and the various other communicable
diseases that are rising at an alarming rate in our society.
As a 501 c-3 non-profit charity, we are a group of six volunteers who
feel very strongly about the importance of providing the educational
materials and the actual products, such as condoms and lubricant,
where they will actually be accessed and used. Our hope is that
we can, by working through this method, stem the progression of
all of these sexually transmitted diseases. We understand the
magnitude of this problem and look at it realistically. If we can
develop an understanding in just one person to look at their sexual
activity from our standpoint, then we feel great.
As an outreach company, we provide condoms, to most of the gay
bars in the area. At this time we are serving these Florida counties:
Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk, Lake, Hernando,
Sarasota and Citrus and probably will gain more in the future as
the need arises and as our ability increases. At the present time
we have included male as well as the female locations. So far, we
are supplying two of the so called “straight” bars on Madeira Beach,
near St. Petersburg, Florida. We are in the process of planning to
increase this number considerably when circumstances make that
possible. We feel very strongly that this issue is of great concern to
ALL segments of our society even though we are specifically
targeting the gay community at this time.
From what you have read above, we hope it is clear that our main
objective is to prevent the spread of HIV and all other STD’s. We
also have available condoms and lubricants along with information
about how to use condoms. We suggest that you be tested and be
aware. Don’t be afraid to ask questions of your partner(s).
Our objectives are simple as well. We go where the people are
located. We provide those people with literature, condoms and
lubricants. We provide demonstrations and lectures whenever
needed. We provide a list of testing sites and encourage everyone
to be tested soon and at least every six months because of sexual
activity. We provide discussion and counseling whenever and
wherever necessary to one person, groups or clubs and
organizations.
At the present time, our non-profit charity consists of six volunteers.
Four are working on a nearly full time basis and two are considered
associate volunteers.
