Services
Services We Provide

As we described Di Imanti Outreach Program, Inc. tries to go to
wherever the targeted group to be located.  At the present time we
have been asked to work with many of the gay campgrounds in this
state and in Georgia.  We provide condoms and lubricant in the
offices, the restaurants, all camp social functions and all of the
public areas of those campgrounds.  We also give demonstrations,
talks and discussions to large or small groups when we are
asked.  Our main agenda for all of these talks is in the area of HIV
safety and prevention.  For women, many are unaware of the
enormous numbers that are carriers, and how important it is for
everyone to be tested periodically.

We provide them with our business card, on the back of which is
written a list of test sights that will not require their name or their
sexual habits and recent activities and partners names and
addresses.  This is usually the reason that most of the people we
see explain their fear of being tested.  Some don’t even want their
own primary Doctor to have any information concerning this area of
their private lives.  Most gay men are very aware of what a condom
looks like, how to put one on and how to use one, but most woman
we have seen have not purchased or used a female condom in
their sexually active lifetime.  We will discuss them and even
demonstrate how they are used with an “adult, over sized” female
condom (used for demonstration purposes only).   We provide
condoms to both male and females in these environments when
asked.  After a group discussion, most participants are given
printed informational pamphlets, condoms and lubricants.  The
reaction to these discussions is usually very positive in our
viewpoint.  Quite often people will come up to one of us in the group
later and thank us for what we have done for them.  That makes it
worthwhile.

Testing is a large part of our overall goal structure.  We would like
to see every person in the gay environment tested as often as every
six months and every three months if they are highly sexually active
with multiple partners.  As I stated earlier, on the back of our
volunteer business card, we provide a number of establishments
that will test anyone that we send to them without making that
person list his or her name, etc.  We suggest that because of the
fear, none should ever have to disclose their name, address,
phone or sexual partners when asking to be tested.
